The third gameweek of this new Premier League campaign brought together Bournemouth and Tottenham Hotspur. Two clubs who appointed new managers this summer in an attempt to rebrand their team’s respective identities.
For Bournemouth, the unique selling points of brand Andoni Iraola were pressing and intensity. For Spurs, the appeal of brand Ange Postecoglou was proactive football, both in and out of possession.
Whilst both sides drew their respective opening games, they had contrasting results in gameweek two. Bournemouth suffered a 3-1 away defeat to Liverpool, whereas Spurs achieved a 2-1 home win against Manchester United. Iraola made two changes to his previous starting eleven. Neto was put between the posts and Lloyd Kelly came into defense alongside Max Aarons, Illia Zabarnyi and Milos Kerkez. In midfield, Joe Rothwell was supported by Ryan Christie and Philip Billing and in attack, Dominic Solanke was flanked by Antoine Semenyo and Justin Kluivert, making his first start.
