Before the international break, Barcelona dropped three points at Real Arena against Real Sociedad. Hansi Flick’s men looked appalling as they failed to register a single on-target shot. Lamine Yamal's absence added insult to injury, as it was plain that the Catalans missed their offensive weapon and threat source due to ankle problems. Gavi’s return after an ACL injury was the only pleasant news for Hansi Flick and the fans.
Barcelona's manager made three changes to the main squad that faced Real Sociedad. Iñaki Peña Sotorres started in goal. Jules Koundé, Pau Cubarsí, and Iñigo Martínez maintained their spots in the defense whilst, Gerard Martín replaced Alejandro Balde as a left back. Instead of Frenkie De Jong, Pedri joined Marc Casadó in the pivot. Fermin López made way for Gavi in the front line, Raphinha operated on the right side, and Dani Olmo took position behind striker Robert Lewandowski.
