Everton – Manchester City: City Drop Points In The Title Race As Doku Rescues Point From The Brink Of Defeat (3-3)
Manchester City dropped points in the title race in their game against Everton as Jeremy Doku’s last minute equaliser rescued a point for the Sky Blues. It was a seesawing affair in the second half at the Hill Dickinson Stadium which ended level as City dropped a crucial two points after Arsenal went six points clear at the summit of the Premier League earlier in the gameweek.

The run-in for the Premier League title does seem to favour Arsenal slightly, as was the consensus from most fans, pundits and analysts alike, looking at both Arsenal and City’s games left to play in the season. And Everton turned out to be a bogey team for the Sky Blues yet again, this time at the Hill Dickinson Stadium where City could only eventually rescue a point.
The game started brightly for City who went into half-time leading 1-0 thanks to a pearler from Doku from just outside the box. However, mistakes and poor defending allowed Everton back in it.
By the time you could say Jack Robinson or in this game’s case Hill Dickinson, Everton were running away with a 3-1 victory after three goals in the second half—a brace from substitute Thierno Barry and a goal from Jake O’Brien seemed like Everton would get the three points.
However, City rallied late on and Erling Haaland and then Doku, the latter in the dying embers of added time struck to pull City level. However, in the context of the title race Guardiola will certainly be scratching his . . .
