Monaco – Juventus: Even Stevens After a Stale Attacking Display in Fontvieille (0-0)
An interesting stylistic match-up proved to be a stale contest as both teams remained solid at the back whilst providing very little spark offensively. Very few chances were conceded, which meant that most of the intriguing tactical details were from an out-of-possession lens.

With sixteen games kicking off simultaneously on the final round of league phase fixtures, there were many interesting games for supporters to choose from. A tie between Monaco and Juventus was an interesting stylistic match-up.
The home side have struggled for form even after Sébastien Pocognoli’s arrival in October. They sit 10th in Ligue 1 but have showcased that they are capable of the occasional surprising result. Back in late November, Monaco marginally defeated the reigning treble champions Paris Saint-Germain 1-0.
Juventus also have endured a turbulent season as they similarly switched managers. However, since Luciano Spalletti’s appointment, there has been a renewed sense of positivity and optimism whilst displaying enjoyable performances. Among their recent wins, the biggest of them all was a recent 3-0 thrashing of current Italian champions Napoli.
With a lot to fight for and the unpredictable nature of the new Champions League format, both teams were ideally searching for a victory to secure their spot in the play-off qualifiers.
