Como – Inter Milan: Nerazzurri Do The Needful But Napoli Clinch The Scudetto (0-2)
Inter Milan defeated Como 2-0 at the Sinigaglia in the final game of the Serie A season that would decide the eventual title winners. Goals in each half from Stefan de Vrij and Joaquin Correa gave Inter the 2-0 away win against Como. However, it wasn’t enough in the end as Napoli beat Cagliari at the Maradona to win the 2024/25 Scudetto.

It was a pensive and frantic atmosphere inside the Sinigaglia as the race for the Scudetto went right down to the final game of the season. Inter needed a win but had to rely on Cagliari doing them a favour against Napoli if they were to win the Serie A title. But it didn’t contrive to turn in Inter’s favour. Napoli beat Cagliari 2-0 at the Maradona to clinch the Scudetto right from under Inter’s noses.
Simone Inzaghi was serving a touchline ban so the mercurial Inter boss wasn’t stationed in the dugout for the game. Meanwhile, Cesc Fabregas’ Como side looked to do the damage against Inter but this was a poignant affair as well. Como’s captain on the evening and goalkeeper Pepe Reina was playing his final senior game before retiring. However, in a moment of a rush of blood, Reina flew out of his goal to foul Inter’s Taremi and the referee brandished a red card to Reina after checking the on-field monitor. The straight red reduced Como to ten men as Reina’s final game before retirement ended with a blemish as he made his way off the field . . .
