Tottenham Hotspur and Leeds United put on a show when they last met, with the former securing a thrilling 4-3 victory. However, it was a game that perfectly captured the chaotic nature of their respective seasons. For all their struggles early in the campaign, nothing appears to have changed.
Leeds cut ties with Jesse Marsch and Javi Gracia in quick succession and with four games left, they rolled the dice with Sam Allardyce. With one game remaining, they were placed in the bottom three and even a victory would not guarantee their Premier League status. But Leeds still had a fighting chance of surviving if other results went their way.
Sam Allardyce picked a 5-3-2 formation, with Joel Robles starting in goal. Rasmus Kristensen, Maximilian Wöber, and Liam Cooper comprised the back three, while Luke Ayling and Pascal Struijk played as the wing-backs. In midfield, Allardyce preferred Adam Forshaw, Jack Harrison, and Robin Koch, with Rodrigo and Weston McKennie completing the attack.
Meanwhile, Tottenham Hotspur, similar to Leeds, have parted ways with two managers this season. As the curtain fell on Antonio Conte and Cristian Stellini’s troubled chapter, Ryan Mason was handed the responsibility yet again.
