Newcastle United – Arsenal: Energetic Newcastle Stifle Arsenal Attack (1-0)

Newcastle United did not enjoy a great October in the Premier League, drawing at Everton before losing to Brighton and Chelsea. This time around, they hosted an Arsenal side who were recently upset by Bournemouth in a 2-0 defeat, before dropping points at home to Liverpool.
Eddie Howe’s side lined up in a 4-3-3 formation for this game. Tino Livramento, Fabian Schär, Dan Burn, and Lewis Hall made up the back four, while Sean Longstaff and Joe Willock flanked Bruno Guimarães in the midfield three. Anthony Gordon, Alexander Isak, and Joelinton completed the frontline.
Arsenal meanwhile lined up in a 4-4-2 shape, with Thomas Partey deployed at right back, joined in the defensive line by William Saliba, Gabriel Magalhães, and Jurriën Timber. Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli were the wingers, with Declan Rice and Mikel Merino in central midfield. Kai Havertz and Leandro Trossard then formed the forward partnership.
