Enzo Maresca’s Chelsea side managed to get a decisive home win at Stamford Bridge. A first-half goal from Nicolas Jackson & another from Cole Palmer in the second half were enough to see off Newcastle who equalised through Alexander Isak. With the help of some last-ditch defending, the Blues hung on to their lead to register a much-needed home victory as their top-four aspirations remain on track.

It’s funny how a string of good results can change the entire mood around a club from agonising contempt for the management & ownership to the heights of success & satisfaction. In Chelsea’s case, the success has been moderate but they’ve been in the ascendancy.
