After a convincing win over Real Sociedad in the last round, Manchester United's Europa League campaign continued this week against Olympique Lyonnais. Their last couple of Premier League games had been unremarkable, but the focus is on Europe for Ruben Amorim's men, as they try to salvage this season.
Lyon started this game in a 4-3-3 system. The back four was made up of Ainsley Maitland-Niles, Clinton Mata, Moussa Niakhaté, and Nicolás Tagliafico, while Paul Akouokou was the deepest midfielder. Either side of him were Corentin Tolisso and Jordan Veretout, while Thiago Almada played centrally in attack between Rayan Cherki and Georges Mikautadze.
