Liverpool’s wing-play and ability to get in behind the defense was ultimately too much for Ange Postecoglou’s side, who did manage to score a couple of consolation goals later on.

Tottenham Hotspur came into this match after an entertaining League Cup match in midweek, where they were able to beat Manchester United 4-3. They faced another big challenge in this game, facing Liverpool who find themselves top of the league as the campaign approaches its halfway point.

Angle Postecoglou’s side lined up in a 4-2-3-1 shape, with a makeshift back four of Pedro Porro, Radu Drăgușin, Archie Gray, and Djed Spence. Pape Matar Sarr and Yves Bissouma played in a double-pivot, with James Maddison as number ten. Dejan Kulusevski, Dominic Solanke, and Son Heung-min completed the frontline.
