Bayern Munich – Eintracht Frankfurt: Kompany Earns Statement Win Against Toppmöller (4-0)
Vincent Kompany has faced mounting pressure after his team was outclassed by title rivals Bayer Leverkusen and narrowly scraped past Celtic in Europe. However, a commanding performance against Eintracht Frankfurt provided much-needed relief, as Toppmöller's side continued to stumble after their blistering start to the season.

Despite leading the Bundesliga title race by eight points, Vincent Kompany is yet to entirely win over the confidence of the fanbase.
Recent performances have been indicative of the justifications for those sentiments. Last weekend, Bayern Munich somehow managed to steal a point off reigning champions Bayer Leverkusen despite being dominated in that match. The performance was so one-sided that the Bavarians could not even land a shot on target, while Xabi Alonso’s side created plentiful chances on the opposite end. This was followed by a 1-1 draw against Celtic in the second leg of the Champions League playoff round, where they edged past with a goal margin from their first meeting. Hence, a tie against third-placed Eintracht Frankfurt was an opportunity to allow Bayern to showcase their ability to perform against one of the most competitive sides in Germany.
Meanwhile, Dino Toppmöller thought he regained the lost form last month. However, February proved to be another rough period for Frankfurt and consequently, their points gap between the league competitors for Champions League qualification shrunk. Now, only three points separate them from fourth-placed Freiburg, with Mainz, RB Leipzig, and Stuttgart following closely behind. Hence, for Toppmöller, a victory against the shaky top of the table Bayern team represented an opportunity to turn the form tide . . .
