Bayern Munich – Stuttgart: Back With A Bang (5-1)

Two teams matching each other with intense and aggressive man-to-man pressure is usually a fun watch. It was no different on Friday night as the reigning champions Bayern Munich hosted Stuttgart for an exciting game filled with goals. After a close first-half performance, the visitors gradually opened more gaps in defence whilst Bayern regularly found valuable spaces to exploit. In the end, the champions walked away with three points to kick off the new Bundesliga campaign where they will strive to lift the title again. Meanwhile, despite the scoreline, it was a valiant display by Stuttgart which showcased their ability to make the match tough for one of the best teams in Europe.

Bayern Munich were riding high after a successful 2025/26 campaign where they were, yet again, dominant domestically. Under Vincent Kompany’s leadership, they lifted the Bundesliga title and the DFB-Pokal, defeating Stuttgart, who they were set to host for the inaugural match of the league season. Although Bayern were knocked out of the UEFA Champions League semi-final by Paris Saint-Germain, they still proved to be one of the best European teams. With an intense yet fluid tactical system, the Bavarians were a fun group to watch, producing numerous entertaining performances.

Sebastian Hoeneß continues to prove himself as one of the most exciting managers who regularly outperforms with the squad. Over the past three years, he has guided Stuttgart to European qualification consecutively.
