When the Champions League draw unfolded, Group F emerged as the most intriguing, with all four teams poised to challenge each other. True to the expectations, three teams -Paris Saint-Germain, Newcastle United, and AC Milan - were still competing for a spot in the knockout stages alongside Borussia Dortmund, as we approached the final week of the group stages.

Borussia Dortmund, after securing just one point in their first two games, defied the odds with three consecutive victories, which included a double over Newcastle United and a victory in Milan to secure their place in the knockout stages. Despite a three-game winless run in their domestic league, anything other than a defeat against PSG would see them become the group winners.

On the opposing front, Paris Saint-Germain narrowly sidestepped elimination, courtesy of a controversial stoppage-time penalty against Newcastle United. This not only earned them a crucial point but also placed their qualification fate squarely in their hands. Unlike their opponents, PSG have been in impressive form in their domestic league with a nine-game winning streak.
