Chelsea beat David Moyes’ Everton side 2-0 at Stamford Bridge. In what was a business as usual performance, Cole Palmer got on the scoresheet on his return to the Chelsea side as Malo Gusto added a second with both goals coming in the first half. The win saw the Blues move into the top four in the Premier League table.

It’s been a season that’s flattered to deceive for the Blues and for Chelsea fans. After some incredible performances against Barcelona in the Champions League and a gritty display holding league leaders Arsenal to a draw at the Bridge despite being down to ten men, the Blues somewhat stumbled in the results that followed.
Just when there were signs of a title push and with Chelsea fans cautiously optimistic about a title challenge, the Blues once again fell apart with losses to Leeds away, a draw against Bournemouth and a loss to Atalanta in the Champions League, as Chelsea’s run of form just after arguably their best two performances of the season highlighted the flaws in Enzo Maresca’s young side.
Perhaps Chelsea’s defense is the glaring issue or some would argue the absence of Moises Caicedo in the middle of the pitch after he picked up a suspension following his red card against Arsenal led to Chelsea’s faltering results.
