Crystal Palace and Bournemouth played out a thrilling 3-3 draw in an intense affair at Selhurst Park. In a seesawing game that swung like a pendulum at both ends of the pitch, Oliver Glasner’s Palace side came back from going 2-0 down to Bournemouth to secure a draw at Selhurst Park, and they could have perhaps won it had Jean-Philippe Mateta finished the late chance he was presented with.
Oliver Glasner and Andoni Iraola are perhaps two of the most progressive and intriguing managers in the Premier League currently. Both managers have transformed their respective teams into solid units that are tough to beat and who can hurt any opposition on their day. And perhaps, their philosophies and the way they set up their teams could blur into congruence in certain aspects of play, although they seem poles apart.
It’s rather evident that Glasner has transformed Palace. Last season’s FA Cup victory over Manchester City capped off an impressive season as Palace also finished in 12th place in the Premier League. Glasner who took over at Palace in February 2024 has since established himself as a manager who is tough to beat in the way he sets up . . .
