Elversberg faced the reigning league champions after a successful start to the Bundesliga season, picking up two impressive wins against Bayer Leverkusen and Borussia Mönchengladbach. Their defensive and attacking strategies provided a solid platform to try and keep Bayern Munich at bay whilst creating goal-scoring chances. Lennart Karl’s opener was met with a stunning equaliser from Maurice Krattenmacher in the second half. Harry Kane eventually found the winner in due course as Bayern edged past Elversberg.

Elversberg has taken the Bundesliga by storm, having won both of their opening matches against Bayer Leverkusen and Borussia Mönchengladbach. They secured six points in emphatic fashion, conceding five and scoring seven in those fixtures.

Meanwhile, Bayern Munich have been slightly imperfect relative to their usual results after drawing 0-0 with the promoted Schalke. Up next was another former second-division side that has been in red-hot form.

Understandably, Vincent Wagner did not make any changes to the team that started against Mönchengladbach.
