But in the end, a limp display made this contest even easier for Manchester City than they could have hoped. Manchester City were three wins short of a fabled quadruple last season, but off the back of their Champions League final loss, the side are taking a bit of time to get back into their groove. Narrow 1-0 defeats to Leicester City in the Community Shield and Tottenham Hotspur in the league have left the side with points to make up, already at this stage. A 5-0 rout of Norwich City last time out put some much-needed points on the board. Would they coast to a win again over more relegation fodder?
