Paris Saint-Germain were sure to have control of the ball but were faced by Lille’s stubborn 4-4-2 shape. And defensively, the Paris outfit were cut open on a few occasions with the wide areas looking especially susceptible to danger. Lille grabbed a fairly early lead and held off their hosts to grab a result with significant title implications.

As the Ligue 1 season comes to a close, the usual favourites, Paris Saint-Germain, were surrounded by persistent contenders. There was Monaco, Lyon and the team they were to face in this clash: Lille. Christophe Galtier’s men were level on points with PSG and looking to repeat the feats of Monaco’s 2016/17 edition in dethroning the Parisians.
PSG’s Mauricio Pochettino lined up a 4-2-3-1 shape. With the goal monitored by Keylor Navas, Thilo Kehrer and Abdou Diallo were the fullbacks flanking the central defensive pair of Marquinhos and Presnel Kimpembe. Idrissa Gueye and Leandro Paredes were the two in midfield while Ángel Di María, Neymar and Kylian Mbappé were behind Moise Kean.
Christophe Galtier set up a 4-4-2 formation for Lille. The backline of Reinildo Mandava, Sven Botman, José Fonte and Tiago Djaló was ahead of Mike Maignan in goal. Boubakary Soumaré and Benjamin André were the double pivot Two central midfielders next to each other. with Jonathan Bamba and Renato Sanches on their sides. The front two were Jonathan Ikoné and Jonathan David.
