It could have been a very poor start to the Ligue 1 season for European champions Paris Saint-Germain, but Ferran Torres came on and did what he does best, cancelling out the two-goal lead Rennes had built through Sebastian Szymański and Esteban Lepaul.

Paris Saint-Germain were supposed to host Stade Rennais on the opening matchday, but the heatwave had meanwhile made the Parc des Princes pitch unplayable. As a result, the game was eventually moved to Rennes, and we still don't know where the return fixture will be played.
