Stuttgart – Bayern Munich: Five-Star Dominance (0-5)

Despite trailing by a goal for more than an hour, Stuttgart competed at a high level against the reigning champions. However, an excellent long shot from Harry Kane in the second half knocked out all hopes, as it marked the beginning of Bayern Munich’s five-goal haul.

Tactical analysis and match report by Fahd Ahmed.

With the busy December period kicking in, there are plenty of fixtures to get excited about. A clash between Stuttgart and Bayern Munich, a re-run of the 2025 DFB-Pokal final, was one to look forward to, as they are two of the most tactically intriguing teams in the Bundesliga. More importantly, they are also arguably the entertainers of the league with their dynamic styles of play.

Stuttgart have endured a solid start to the campaign, having racked up points to be in and around the Champions League qualification zone. After an entertaining 3-3 draw with Borussia Dortmund a couple of weeks ago, they surprisingly lost 2-1 to Hamburger, where the result matched the underwhelming performance.

The Bavarians stumbled a few weeks ago as their 18-game undefeated run ended after a loss in Europe. However, their domestic form has remained flawless with wins against St. Pauli in the Bundesliga and Union Berlin in the DFB-Pokal.
