AC Milan – AS Roma: Even Contest Ends In Stalemate At The San Siro As Fonseca Gets The Sack (1-1)

Milan & Roma played out a tightly contested but entertaining draw at the San Siro in this Serie A fixture. Tijjani Reijnders’ early goal was cancelled out by an equaliser from Roma’s Paulo Dybala with both goals coming in the first half as both sides pushed & probed but couldn’t turn the balance of the tie in their favour settling for sharing the points with a draw on the night. This draw led to the eventual sacking of Milan boss Paulo Fonseca after just six months in charge.

This stalemate leaves Milan in eighth place with 27 points, trailing joint leaders Atalanta and Napoli by 14 points, and sitting 8 points adrift of the Champions League qualification spots.
