Juventus took the three points back to Turin following a 1-0 victory at the home of old foe AC Milan. Both Pioli and Allegri executed specific gameplans which counterbalanced the others but a red card towards the end of the first half and a deflected goal fifteen minutes into the second, swung the game in Juventus’ favor.

AC Milan versus Juventus is always a noteworthy fixture in the European football calendar. It is a meeting of Italian football’s two most successful clubs. In this latest edition, it provided an opportunity to gauge how both team’s may fare in their respective challenges for the 2023/24 Scudetto.
Heading into the international break, Milan sat top of Serie A having won seven of their eight opening games. Their only blip was a big one, a humiliating 5-1 defeat to city rivals Inter who, having played a day earlier in matchday nine of the campaign, had moved back to first place in the table following their 3-0 win at Torino.
Juventus accumulated seventeen points so far in the league, courtesy of five wins, two draws and one defeat. In their last game, the Old Lady came out on top in the Derby della Mole, beating Torino 2-0, keeping their third successive clean sheet in the process.
Both Stefano Pioli and Massimiliano Allegri were forced into making changes to their previous starting line-ups, with a mixture of suspension and injury impacting either side.
