Bournemouth brightened the league in the wintry months. They beat Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur, and Manchester United, drew with Chelsea, and scored nine goals in victories over Newcastle United and Nottingham Forest. But they have lost major momentum. One win in nine league fixtures and an FA Cup quarter-final exit to Manchester City feel like a bump back to earth. But even though the dream of playing in European football is out of their hands, they can still earn their best finish in the top tier.
