Juventus – Lazio: Possession Without Purpose (0-3)

Juventus’ reputation for controlling games through possession offered little protection against a Lazio side that combined defensive discipline with ruthless attacking efficiency. Despite enjoying periods of territorial dominance, the Bianconeri struggled to turn their possession into meaningful chances, leaving them vulnerable whenever Lazio found opportunities to attack. The 3-0 scoreline exposed the gap between Juventus’ control of the ball and their ability to influence the game, as Gennaro Gattuso’s side delivered a clinical performance in Turin.

Juventus lined up in a 4-2-3-1 formation under Luciano Spalletti, who was suspended for the match, with assistant Marco Domenichini taking charge from the touchline. Guglielmo Vicario started in goal, behind a back four of Pierre Kalulu at right-back, Gleison Bremer and Jhon Lucumí at centre-back, and Zeki Çelik at left-back.

Douglas Luiz and Pape Sarr formed the double pivot in midfield, with Nicolás González occupying the right wing, Weston McKennie operating in the number ten role, and Kerim Alajbegovic starting on the left. Randal Kolo Muani led the line as the lone striker.

Juventus' structure offered several passing options through the central areas, although the side struggled to translate its possession into clear-cut opportunities against Lazio's organised defensive block.

Lazio adopted a 4-3-3 formation under Gennaro Gattuso, with Christos Mandas in goal and Matteo Floriani, Josip Šutalo, Oliver Provstgaard and Nuno Tavares forming the back four. Davide Frattesi, Reda Belahyane and Kenneth Taylor occupied midfield, while Gustav Isaksen started on the right wing, Tijjani Noslin led the attack through the middle, and Mattia Zaccagni operated from the left . . .
