Manchester City have made a habit of slipping up to Leicester City in recent years. But this time around, they managed to catch the Foxes in their trap. A familiar 2-3-2-3 structure on the ball was dominant on the day, and a key figure made his presence count to decide this clash.

While they have picked up six of nine points so far, Leicester City have struggled to convince this year. Single goal wins over Wolves and Norwich City bookend a 4-1 hammering at the hands of West Ham United, leaving the side sitting ninth place in the league table. But having troubled their visitors in years gone by, they fancied their chances of kickstarting their campaign with a positive result here.

Meanwhile, Manchester City seem to be making their way back into top gear. Slipping to a 1-0 loss to Tottenham Hotspur in the first game of the season, back to back 5-0 wins over Norwich and Arsenal were an apt reminder of the quality that the reigning champions have to offer. Now facing a side that have already beat them this year, they hoped to prove that the slim defeat was merely a blip in form.
