A hectic affair at Molineux saw Enzo Maresca grab his first win as Chelsea manager. A breathtaking victory ended with Noni Madueke registering a hat trick of goals and Cole Palmer a hat trick of assists.

Chelsea traveled to Wolverhampton with the hope of making up for the loss against Manchester City in their inaugural game. Enzo Maresca’s clash against Pep Guardiola proved that there is a long way to go and that there is a lot of work to do for the Blues to make the desired modern, effective playing style reality.

Wolverhampton were unlucky to start their season facing Arsenal and Chelsea successively, especially when their best players departed the club. Joao Pedro was the last cog who saw them off to join Enzo Maresca’s team. Gary O’Neil encountered thirsty, hungry gunners at the Emirates Stadium. A season opener that ended with an away loss.
