Atalanta Bergamo – Internazionale: Unnatural Atalanta Succumb to Conte’s Press and Block (0-2)
The uncharacteristic Atalanta were bleak in the final third, as Internazionale bypassed their press and held their organized block to topple their opponent’s phenomenal winning streak. Gian Piero Gasperini made slight adjustments to improve, but Atalanta were denied the 100-goal milestone and a second place finish, due to a superior defensive game plan from the hand of Antonio Conte.

Serie A’s final matchday pitched two of the league’s top three amongst each other – as well as the clubs that were expected to threaten the Juve crown.
Atalanta returned to football how they left it, bulldozing their way against anyone they could find. Draws against Hellas Verona and AC Milan denied the race for the title, but Gasperini’s team still had plenty to play for. Two goals would take them to the 100-milestone, while a victory would mean make them leapfrog Inter in the standings to confirm their first ever second placed finish.
This would mean Atalanta would have to be one of four teams to defeat Antonio Conte’s men this campaign. Unless Inter triumph in the Europa League this month, Conte would be left disappointed that he has yet failed to bring silverware to one of the football giants - instant success is something he is . . .
